Basic Genealogy - Practical.


Description - This course - The Elephant Hunt - simulates an actual record office and provides course members with practical experience in carrying out research at an archive.

Course members are usually divided into small teams to collectively research the Elephant family using the knowledge gained in attending the FR01 course (Basic Genealogy - Theory). They are given brief details of a person and their task is to research his family history using the data held in the archive.

  • Week 1 - The Elephant Hunt.

  • Duration - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

    Venue - Venue will be advised prior to enrolment.

    Handouts - There is no handout.

    Materials - All necessary materials will be provided.

    Catering - Coffee and tea will be provided during the session. Please bring a packed lunch.

    Cost - Members : £5.00 per person. Non-members : £10.00 per person.
