Taxation in England & Wales.
Description - this course covers taxation in England and Wales from 1188 to current times. It includes the E179 database (on-line records),Lay subsidies, Poll taxes, Hearth Tax, Land Tax, Window Tax, Marriage Duty and Death Duty.
The text describes each tax in chronological order and ends with a Bibliography for further reading or research. Appendix 'A' describes how to use the E179 database, whilst Appendix 'B' explains the structure of the Death Duty records.
Duration - 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

Handouts - Course members will receive a handout containing the text of the lecture.
